Terms of use

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use the KCDS launcher, the KCDS client, the dedicated server, the SDK, the server list and kcdsynced.com (together, "KCDS"). KCDS is run by the KCDS team ("we", "us").

By installing or using KCDS you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use KCDS.

2. Who can use KCDS

  • You must be at least 16 years old. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is rated PEGI 18; some servers may set a higher age.
  • Only an original, licensed copy of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II can play: from Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store or Xbox PC Game Pass. KCDS ships no game files and checks that your copy is original; a copy that fails the check cannot start KCDS or join a server.
  • You must also follow the terms of the game and of the store you bought it from (for example Steam). These terms do not replace them.

3. Not an official product

Community projectKCDS is not made, endorsed or supported by Warhorse Studios or Deep Silver / PLAION. Do not contact them for help with KCDS. Kingdom Come: Deliverance is their trademark.

4. Your licence to use KCDS

KCDS is free. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use it to play on or host KCD2 multiplayer servers. The open-source parts are covered by the licences listed on the Licences page; where those say something different, they win.

You may not:

  • sell KCDS, or charge for downloading it;
  • publish modified builds of the launcher or client as if they were official KCDS;
  • remove or bypass the game ownership check, the update signing or the file checksums, or help anyone play without an original copy;
  • reverse-engineer KCDS to build cheats, or to attack servers or players.

5. Community servers

Every KCDS server is hosted and run by its own operator, not by us. We only run the central server list.

  • Each server sets its own rules, resources and age limits. Read them before you join.
  • Server operators decide who plays on their server and can ban you from it. We cannot overturn a ban on someone else's server.
  • Servers may not sell in-game advantages: no items, currency, ranks, perks or paid access. If a server asks you to pay for anything in the game, report it to us. Voluntary donations to a server are between you and its operator; we take no part in them and give no refunds.
  • Servers that break our Server hosting rules can be removed from the server list.

6. Player code of conduct

On any server and in our community spaces you must not:

  • cheat, use exploits on purpose, or use tools that give you an unfair advantage;
  • harass, threaten or bully other players, or post hate speech;
  • share someone's personal information (doxxing) or their IP address;
  • post or share illegal content, sexual content involving minors, or malware;
  • attack servers or the server list (for example DDoS) or try to crash other players;
  • pretend to be KCDS staff, a server operator or another player;
  • get around a ban with a new name or device.

7. What happens if you break these terms

We can warn you, remove a server from the server list, exclude you from our community spaces, or report illegal activity to the authorities. We tell you why when we can, unless the law or safety reasons stop us.

If you think we got it wrong, email [email protected]. A person will look at it and reply.

8. Things you make

Resources, gamemodes, scripts and videos you make stay yours. If you send us a video or screenshot for the showcase, you let us show it on kcdsynced.com and our social channels, with credit, until you ask us to take it down.

You must have the rights to anything you upload or run on a server.

9. Updates and availability

The launcher updates KCDS every time it starts, and a server only accepts players on a matching version. We may change, pause or stop KCDS at any time, for example if the game changes or if Warhorse Studios or Deep Silver / PLAION ask us to. We will announce bigger changes in the changelog and on Discord when we can.

10. No warranty

KCDS is a free community project provided "as is". It may have bugs, crash your game or lose progress on a server. Back up your saves before you use it.

11. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, lost game progress, or anything a community server or another player does. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for injury to life or health, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded.

12. Reporting illegal content

To report illegal content on kcdsynced.com or in the server list, email [email protected] with the link or server address and why you think it is illegal. For content on a community server, also contact that server's operator.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The latest version is always on this page. If a change matters for you, we will announce it on the website and on Discord before it applies. If you keep using KCDS after that, the new terms apply.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Slovak law. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you can bring a claim in your country's courts.
