Server hosting rules

1. Who can host

Anyone can run a KCDS server. A server lists itself in the server list unless you switch that off (KCDS_MASTER_URL=off); by listing it you accept these rules and the Terms of use. You are responsible for your server, its staff and every resource it runs.

You must be at least 18 years old to list a server, or have a parent or guardian who takes responsibility for it.

2. Listing

  • Run an official KCDS server build. Modified builds that fake the version or player count are delisted.
  • Use an accurate name, gamemode and tags. No misleading names, no "official" or "KCDS" in the name unless we gave you that status.
  • Do not pretend to be Warhorse Studios, Deep Silver / PLAION, KCDS, or another server.
  • Server names and tags must be suitable for a public list: no slurs, sexual content or illegal content.
  • There is no featured or verified status yet. When there is, it will not be for sale.

3. The game and its owners

  • Every player must own an original, licensed copy of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. Do not help anyone bypass the ownership check, and do not switch it off on your server.
  • Do not distribute game files, extracted assets or pirated copies.
  • If Warhorse Studios or Deep Silver / PLAION ask us to remove content, we will, and you must too.

4. Money: no pay-to-win

Nothing paid may give an in-game advantageNo payment of any kind may give a player items, money, stats, ranks, roles, abilities, faster progress or any other in-game benefit. Servers that break this are removed from the server list.

You may ask players to help cover your hosting costs, as long as paying changes nothing in the game.

  • Allowed: voluntary donations that give nothing in return, or only a thank-you outside the game (for example a Discord role or a name on your website).
  • Not allowed: selling in-game items, currency, weapons, horses, property, XP, skills, ranks or jobs; paid whitelists or paid access to the server; VIP perks of any kind; selling unbans.
  • Also not allowed: selling the game or KCDS itself, charging to download KCDS, real-money gambling, or loot boxes.
  • Do not let players trade in-game items or currency for real money on your server or its community.

5. Your players' data (GDPR)

You are the controllerYour server receives players' IP addresses and names and can log chat and actions. Under GDPR you are responsible for that data, not us.
  • Publish a privacy notice for your server (on your Discord or website) that says what you log, why and for how long, and how players can contact you.
  • Collect only what you need to run and moderate the server. Delete logs you no longer need.
  • Never publish or share a player's IP address or personal details.
  • Answer players' requests to see or delete their data without undue delay, within the time GDPR sets.
  • If you are not in the EU but have EU players, GDPR still applies to you.

6. Scripts and resources

  • No scripts that harm players: no malware, crypto mining, or code that reaches outside the game.
  • No scripts that secretly collect data about players or their computers. Server resources can call web services and keep databases: tell your players what they store.
  • Respect the licences of resources made by others. Credit authors when their licence asks for it.
  • Do not attack, flood or scrape the server list or other servers.

7. Moderating your server

  • Post your server rules where players see them before they join.
  • Give players a way to contact you and report problems.
  • Act on reports of illegal content, harassment and cheating. Report illegal content involving children to the police.
  • Your server, your bans. Apply them fairly and tell players why when you can.
  • Set an age limit if your content needs it. Our minimum is 16.
